Moving along.

So things have been busy recently, very busy in fact. Firstly I've started getting my head down and writing the script for 'four' at the moment its pretty basic and not really anything of substance but its going to be edited and more drafts shall be made I'm sure.

In other avenues we have now sorted a team for the 'Five lamps 24 hour film challenge' and I have been given the role as Director, I am defiantly looking forward to this and getting the chance to see if I can handle such a hard challenge and directing a crew and cast in such a short space of time. Now all we need to do is develop a story which is open enough to include the secret prop we are given on the date of the challenge. This is actually quite hard and we have been drawing a blank with the story but we are going to sit down and sort it out soon.

As for my Made in Britain Documentary I have been inspired by the BBC's Fantastic nature show 'Life' and now I am planning to go down more of a wildlife filming avenue, the whole poem and image concept is still there but I am going to attempt to talk about wildlife also not just the city and country side.

Further Develpments.

Recently I have been fairly busy getting stuck into my work. Currently I have my first drafts of the Poems for my Documentary, some of the poems I got back where great and fantastic peices of work but at the same time I am unsure of how they will work along with the style I am looking for, so for this I am going to try incorporate the poems I have as much as I can and then im going to attempt to write my own poetry to go along with the theme and style I am looking for.

As for the script for 'four' it has taken a bit of a back burner at the moment cause of Uni commitments but im almost sure ill get some free time at the weekend to try and get the first draft out and ready for the edit.

Another development that has cropped up in the opportunity to enter the Five Lamps 24 hour film competition based in Derby. Basically the format is simple you are given 24 hours to produce and edit a 3 minute film but to make sure you dont already have a script written you are given two props that have to be shown in every scene and not just in the background but have to be used by the characters. So far we are just trying to get a team of people together and get some loose ideas down so we are not drawing blanks when we get the computation. I know one thing for sure is that im looking forward to making a 3 minute film in 24 hours and just the whole challenge fills me with desire.

Current Work.

At the moment I am starting to develop a Ten minute script, The title to this has not yet been sorted but we are using a working title of 'Four' I cant really go into details as of yet cause its Top Secret.... well not really im just keeping my cards close to my chest. Hopefully I can get the script sorted so me and two fellow friends (Jamie Gamble, Dan Shearer) can get to work editing the script and devising the story board and other post production methods.

Another project I am working on for my Degree in Film and Video Production is a documentary on the subject 'Made in Britain'. Now for this I really didnt want to make your conventional Doc so i decided to try something new and make a more Avent Garde doc. So with my ideas I decided to make a Documentary using a Poem as a visual guide. The poem which is being written by a poetry group will be read out by different members of the British public will last for around 5 minutes and the visual and sounds will match up with the line being read out.

Hopefully both of these will be at a advanced stage in the next few weeks and I get the chance to show them of on here and through other avenues.

Peace!
