Work work work, Busy busy busy.

This week is going to be one of the busiest and most testing week of my life so far. I currently have to film five minutes worth of my Documentary, Write the rest of my script for my Narrative class in Uni and then at the end of the week we have the 24 hour film computation.

So far the whole Documentary process has not ran smoothly at all the idea of the poem with images has had to go out the window cause quite frankly i don't have the time nor effort or skill to write a poem. So now the plan is to do a Doc on the road i live on, the road is a busy road heading into the centre of Derby so there is plenty to see and film, Im also going to go into shops around the area and get images and sound bites from the people who live and work on the road. So hopefully it should be a simple yet effective piece of work.

In other news we are still writing for the 24 hour film comp, we have a pretty good idea of what were going to do, something along the lines of someone meeting there maker, but how the narrative pans it is still yet to be seen. Im really looking forward to doing this and hopefully we can produce a film worthy of an honorable mention if not winning, because lets face it what's the point in entering if you don't think you can win?

Some other news is my script for the narrative module on my course. We were briefed to write a script of roughly about 10 minutes, The idea I'm working in on is something I'm really, really enjoying. I've almost got the first draft complete and will be having a one on one with the tutor later on this week so then i can see what stage I'm at. Some of the scripts get picked to be made at the end of the term and thats something id really love to see with my script, but only time will tell.

Moving along.

So things have been busy recently, very busy in fact. Firstly I've started getting my head down and writing the script for 'four' at the moment its pretty basic and not really anything of substance but its going to be edited and more drafts shall be made I'm sure.

In other avenues we have now sorted a team for the 'Five lamps 24 hour film challenge' and I have been given the role as Director, I am defiantly looking forward to this and getting the chance to see if I can handle such a hard challenge and directing a crew and cast in such a short space of time. Now all we need to do is develop a story which is open enough to include the secret prop we are given on the date of the challenge. This is actually quite hard and we have been drawing a blank with the story but we are going to sit down and sort it out soon.

As for my Made in Britain Documentary I have been inspired by the BBC's Fantastic nature show 'Life' and now I am planning to go down more of a wildlife filming avenue, the whole poem and image concept is still there but I am going to attempt to talk about wildlife also not just the city and country side.
